I’ve had MMI updated on multiple cars due to simple glitches. As long as the dealer has a reason to update it, they should do so. My S5 had a glitch where CarPlay wouldn’t come back up after the backup cam popped up. Fixed in 10 minutes. My first S3 wouldn’t show track metadata on the virtual cockpit. Also a quick update fixed this.

I came across this thread by accident, looked at the Mega files, couldn't download the map data but did download the 3G+ P1001 MMI update. This is my experience checking the P1001 update against my existing HN+ K942-4 MMI on my EURopean A8. Unzipped, the P1001 update file is 1.6GB!
